Cerner opens on-site Healthe Center in India

Cerner, a global leader in health care technology, today announced the opening of the Healthe at Cerner Center at its Manyata campus in Bangalore, India. More than 2,200 associates will have access to the state-of-the-art Healthe Clinic, Healthe Fitness Center and full suite of health coaching and educational opportunities.

“Cerner is more than a health information technology company. We’re a company focused on putting the individual at the center of health care, which starts with our associates,” said Julie Wilson, executive vice president and chief people officer, Cerner. “We’re committed to providing convenient, holistic health and care offerings, focused on prevention and education, so our associates can lead their healthiest lives.”

Primary and urgent care, along with wellness programs designed to assist members in managing their health to prevent illness, will be provided at the Healthe Clinic. Services include routine screenings, physical exams, lab and pharmacy delivery services and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.

All care suites are equipped with Cerner’s leading health care technology, which will be the first time the Millennium electronic health record will be used in a patient care environment in India.

“This is our living lab where we are bringing health care providers and technology together to actively manage the health of our associates,” said Rama Nadimpalli, senior vice president and general manager, Cerner India. “What we learn here about consumer-driven care will be available to other health care organizations around the world.”

Clinicians from Manipal Hospital will staff the Healthe Clinic. The two organizations have collaborated since 2011, and Manipal Hospital has provided on-site nutritionist services for Cerner India the past two years.

“Harnessing more than 60 years of health care experience and international best practices with Cerner’s cutting-edge technology will enable us to provide a wide spectrum of care to associates, which gives us the opportunity to impact the overall health of the community,” said Dr. Satish Amarnath, head quality of compliance and outreach services, Manipal Hospital. “Cerner is helping shape the future of health care and we’re excited to be a part of the movement.”

Through the Healthe Fitness Center, associates will have access to full-service fitness programming with personalized health education and coaching provided by Zela Health Clubs fitness experts.

“Our company is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles through exercise and good nutrition, a philosophy we share with Cerner, which makes this collaboration a perfect fit,” said Naveen Kumar, vice president, Zela Health Clubs.

This is the first associate Healthe at Cerner Center to be opened outside of the Kansas City area where Cerner’s World Headquarters is located.
