LogicStream Health unveils new clinical process measurement enhancement at HIMSS16

LogicStream Health, transforming care through clinical process measurement, announced today they will be releasing the latest functionality to the LogicStream Intelligence Platform in booth #4977 at the HIMSS Annual Conference and Exhibition, taking place Feb. 29 to March 4 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

More than 40,000 health IT professionals, clinicians, executives and vendors from around the world will be in attendance in Las Vegas to learn about and see the latest in healthcare IT. The theme for this year’s convention is “Transforming Health Through IT,” and LogicStream Health will be demonstrating how they have accomplished transformation with their rapidly expanding client base.

“While you’ll hear a lot of discussion about quality improvement, LogicStream Health has a unique focus: clinical process measurement,” said Dan Rubin, MD, MHI, Chief Medical Officer and Co-founder of LogicStream Health. “Clinical process measurement is the next step beyond measuring populations and end point outcomes. It uncovers how a system achieved or didn’t achieve an outcome providing the information necessary for continuous improvement. This is the next big focus for health IT as pressure mounts for health systems to perform.”

The new executive overview area within the LogicStream Intelligence Platform allows IT and clinical leaders to monitor the activity taking place in the care of patients. This view highlights in real time how the health system is performing on strategic clinical initiatives so adjustments and improvements can be made far in advance of when the outcome is reported.

“These overviews can key in on anything from a broad quality initiative across the health system to a specific hospital-acquired condition like CAUTI or VTE at a single hospital,” Rubin said. “So often, the only measurement is outcomes, at which point it’s really too late to make an impact. We measure the entire clinical process so adjustments can be made immediately to improve outcomes in near real time when they can have the greatest impact on patient lives, publicly reported measures and pay-for-performance.”

Unlike products that simply facilitate the reporting of health or quality outcomes, the LogicStream Intelligence Platform supports the strategic management and analysis of standard clinical protocols and their supporting EHR build. The Intelligence Platform delivers specific solutions targeted at issues such as hospital acquired conditions, revenue cycle management, and regulatory compliance.
