eHealth Technologies empowers imaging interoperability for CRISP

eHealth Technologies, the leading provider of image-enabled Health Information Exchange (HIE) solutions and Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP), a regional HIE serving the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia, announced they have successfully begun the implementation of eHealth Connect Image Exchange across the state of Maryland.

eHealth Connect Image Exchange is improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare by providing authorized users with ready access to diagnostic quality medical images to care for their patients when, where and how they need it.  Medical images are now part of the aggregated patient record on the CRISP Query Portal, and will enable healthcare providers who utilize CRISP’s HIE services to access, view, compare and transfer fully diagnostic quality medical images such as X-ray, CT, MRI, PET and Ultrasound studies from anywhere and at any time – with a single click.

“Providing the clinical community with the ability to instantly access, view and collaborate on their patient’s images further fulfills our mission to help providers securely and appropriately share data to improve health outcomes and the quality of patient care,” said Ryan Bramble, CRISP Director of Integration.  “We are pleased to announce that our pilot group of hospitals have been connected and are already successfully sharing diagnostic quality medical images with the providers and care teams who need them.”

“We are privileged to work with CRISP and its healthcare community to enable timely access to   medical images for referring physicians, specialists and any other care providers. Our goal is to help them improve care coordination, facilitate faster and more informed clinical decision making, and reduce operational costs by providing them with a much more efficient way to share medical images,” stated Gary Larson, Executive Vice President & General Manager, HIE Services.  “Ubiquitous access to medical imaging across the community will also help to eliminate unnecessary duplicate imaging exams, thus reducing healthcare costs as well as unnecessary and potentially harmful excessive radiation exposure associated with some imaging exams such as CTs and X-Rays.”

eHealth Technologies will showcase its medical image sharing services at the upcoming Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HiMSS) 16th Annual Conference and Exhibition, held February 29thMarch 4th in Las Vegas, NV, Meeting Place Room number MP47 in Hall G.  Click here to schedule a time to network with our team, discover how we image-enable HIEs and learn about our latest updates.
