Altruista Health announces Pulse8 to license CDPS predictive risk adjustment system

Altruista Health, an innovative provider of population health management technology solutions for health plans and health care providers, announced that Pulse8 has agreed to license the Chronic Illness and Disability Payment System (CDPS), a predictive risk adjustment and classification system. Altruista Health is the exclusive commercial-use licensor of CDPS, which was developed by the University of California, San Diego to calculate risk-adjusted payments for Medicaid populations.

Based in Annapolis, Maryland, Pulse8 is an innovative healthcare analytics company that provides transparent and flexible business intelligence (BI) tools and analytic solutions to healthcare payers and at-risk providers. Utilizing a targeted blend of risk adjustment and quality analytics, predictive modeling, dynamic intervention planning, and other data analytics tools, Pulse8 offers real-time visibility into member and provider activities so clients can apply interventions that have the highest impact on quality and financial outcomes.

According to Pulse8 CEO John Criswell, CDPS will augment the financial precision of the company’s risk adjustment analytics for Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and Commercial health exchange markets.

“CDPS is highly revered for its accuracy, particularly among populations with chronic conditions and other complex care needs,” said Criswell. “We’re excited to help our clients realize the quality and cost-savings advantages CDPS can help them achieve.”
