Aetna joins Catalyst Health Network

Catalyst Health Network and Aetna have entered into a contract to improve care provided to patients across North Texas. With the addition of Aetna, Catalyst becomes the first physician network to hold value-based contracts with the top four carriers in North Texas.

Aetna and Catalyst are working together to help shift the local healthcare system to one that rewards value over volume of services performed. Catalyst comprises more than 175 providers who are responsible for ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, and at the right time. Physicians and their extended care teams receive real-time patient information, enabling them to coordinate care more effectively.

Aetna employer-sponsored plan participants who currently receive care from Catalyst providers will automatically receive the benefits of this new collaboration.

“The addition of Aetna to Catalyst Health Network marks a significant milestone for us, making 95 percent of health insurance plans available to our providers,” said Christopher Crow, M.D., president, Catalyst Health Network. “Our relationships with major carriers help independent physicians provide better care for all their patients under a single care coordination and technology platform.”

“Our relationship with Catalyst helps to enhance overall quality of care and service for patients,” said Ralph Holmes, President of Aetna’s Texas Operations. “Enabling independent physicians to provide more efficient care also helps to improve costs for employers and members.”
