Independent surgical practice chooses McKesson for revenue cycle services

An independent orthopedic group based in Milwaukee has contracted with McKesson Business Performance Services (McKesson) to improve its billing capabilities through new technology and a full range of revenue cycle management services.

Orthopedic Surgeons of Wisconsin, SC, which does business as the Orthopedic Institute of Wisconsin (OIW), contracted with McKesson for complete revenue cycle services, including provider enrollment and credentialing, clinical documentation assistance, coding, claims management, denial management, compliance and business intelligence reporting. McKesson also will deploy a proprietary billing platform to replace the group’s existing outdated technology. The new system will enable electronic interfaces with hospital data feeds, as well as electronic claims submission.

“McKesson not only has the knowledge, experience and resources necessary to assist OIW with its billing processes, but they also offered an ideal approach for working with our existing billing staff,” said Cheryl Leissring, practice administrator of OIW. “In this very challenging time in healthcare, we are confident that partnering with McKesson will help OIW remain as a strong and independent practice.”
