Malaysia’s Careclinics Health Services SB and the Healthcare Information and Management System Society (HIMSS) have entered into a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 13 September, 2024. This collaboration marks the significant milestone in advancing digital health in Malaysia and positioning Careclinics as a leading example of primary care excellence both regionally and globally.
The MOU was signed between Datuk Dr. Thirunavukarasu Rajoo, chief executive officer and director of Careclinics and Simon Lin, APAC vice president and executive director of HIMSS.
The MOU signing ceremony signifies the commitment of both organizations to enhance the adoption of digital health technologies and boost health system performance. With a shared vision of improving population health and elevating the standard of care, this partnership is set to transform the digital health landscape in Malaysia.
“The collaboration between CareClinics and HIMSS represents an exciting leap forward in transforming healthcare, especially in the often-overlooked field of primary care. By integrating global standards from the outset of our EMR development, we aim to set a benchmark for digital healthcare worldwide. This partnership will strengthen data-driven promotive and preventive care, allowing us to predict patient needs and deliver safer, high-quality care. Our shared vision is to build a future where primary care is proactive, personalised, and integral to global health advancements. Together, we are not just improving primary care – we are reimagining it,” said CareClinics CEO Dr Thirunavukarasu Rajoo in a Healthcare IT News interview.
During its two-year term, this MOU aims to boost the adoption of digital health technologies in Malaysia through HIMSS’s expert advisory and innovative solutions and demonstrate the benefits of digital health transformation. The collaboration will showcase the tangible benefits of digital health transformation, providing a blueprint for other healthcare systems in the region to follow.
This collaboration also intends to leverage digital technologies to redesign how care is delivered and how outcomes are achieved on a population health level, ensuring equity, accessibility and availability of primary care while positioning Careclinics as a global leader in primary care.
With cutting-edge analytics tools such as HIMSS’s Digital Health Indicator (DHI), Continuity of Care Maturity Model (CCMM), and Adoption Model for Analytics Maturity (AMAM), the partnership will provide Careclinics with the insights needed to guide their digital transformation efforts and improve population health outcomes and elevate digital capacity and competency in the Malaysian workforce.
Simon Lin, APAC Managing Director and International Vice President at HIMSS told Healthcare IT News: “we are honoured to partner with CareClinics in its digital transformation journey. We are seeing Malaysia take important steps in the digitalisation of its healthcare sector over the past few years, and CareClinics is poised to be an exemplar for healthcare facilities in the country. By optimising the use of technologies to improve processes and outcomes, CareClinics will be able to meaningfully impact the health of its approximately two million patients every year.”
